What Empuan collects, why, who sees it, and how to delete it.

The short version

Location stays on your phone

It’s read only when you hold SOS, and goes in your text, not to us.

We don’t sell your data

No advertising, no data brokers, no ad trackers.

AI chats can be reviewed

Our team may read them to keep answers safe and correct.

What we collect

What we don’t collect

  • Your location. It never leaves your phone except in a text you choose to send.
  • Your phone book. You pick each contact with your phone’s own picker.
  • Advertising IDs, or tracking for advertising.

Who sees or handles it

  • Other members see what you post in Her Space and in article comments, with your name.
  • Our team reviews reports and may read Empuan AI chats to check quality and safety.
  • Service providers that run Empuan for us: hosting, email for password resets, and Google, which processes the questions you send to Empuan AI to write the answers.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

We don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your data right away and don’t keep a copy. Technical logs of Empuan AI requests are deleted after 180 days.

What stays on your phone

To keep working without internet, the app saves what you’ve opened (courses, articles, pictures, the feed and your profile) inside its own storage on your phone. A copy of your trusted contacts is kept encrypted so SOS works offline. All of it is erased when you sign out or delete your account, and you can clear saved content any time in Me › Saved for offline.

Your rights

Under Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 of 2022) you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent. You can do most of this yourself in the app. For anything else, email support@empuanapp.id.

Delete your account

Security

Everything between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. The copy of your contacts on your phone is encrypted too.

Age

Empuan is for adults aged 18 and over. We check your date of birth when you sign up.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it applies. Questions: support@empuanapp.id.
